Hello. Re Louis Armstrong “She wants a butter and eggs man”, my great grandfather used to travel by train from Florida to the west/southwest. On the way out he would stop at various towns and bid on and buy butter and eggs from the farmers there. On the way back he would pick them up. He was raising cattle in middle Florida and the commodities were lacking. He was a butter and eggs man. Maybe they got the reputation of a traveling salesman (he was buying but ok.).
