Played track 9 of a pristine Sony cd on CD Player #1 and got static breaking up an intermittent signal. Gordon was present to hear it.
Also noticed that the red on air lights over both Live Room and Production Room are on. Is this part of the repairs done over weekend, or some other thing? Curious!
update to previous about station repairs--show went well today Mon 8/14), mic 1 fine, CDs played most of time, #1 and 4 had trouble with track 1, #2 played them all, is the best of them for scanning, one CD was used, one new, but since 2 played them when others would skip on track 1, that would seem to point to the player rather than the CD, but repairs thus far appear to be successful, so hope that the rest will be taken care of . thanks and carry on!
METERS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE. I GOT THE MIX WAY DOWN (AUX 1`) AND TONS OF CRAP COMING OUT OF THE STUDIO SPEAKERS/MONITORS. PROGRAM VU METERS ARE SET AND BEHAVING PROPERLY. SWITCHED VU METERS ARE PEGGING DEEP RED.
For the text message feature, which has been down for nearly 9 months, might I suggest checking whether there is an update required for the plugin? Might I be able to help troubleshoot this?
Aux 2 is not working - tried both the cord and Bluetooth. No music plays. Tried turning my volume up, switching devices from phone to computer, but nothing.
Tuesday, August 8, Divertimento:
I tried new and old cds in splendid condition in CD 2, 3 and 4, and all skipped or would not play. CD 1 was broken last week.
I respectfully ask that this problem report be replied to all WRIU Staff by Station Management.
I had to kill the program and switch to the dreary Station Playlist.
Follow up to previous posts on CD players--CD 1 was cited last week, and has a sign taped to it saying "broken." It is a diagnostic issue for sure, because although I have also had problems with them playing first track of a CD (laser lock issue?), I have not had the problems that others describe, so that does suggest the issue of scanning and laser lock, as to why some CDs play no problem and some don't. Otherwise, there would be a total failure in scanning and playing anything, necessating a complete overhaul or replacement. my thoughts on it, as we approach Sept.
all three CD players would not play early cuts on CDs, even brand new CDs
No sound. Silence.
Commercial CD with almost blemish-free surface skipped badly in machines 2 and 4. (I routinely avoid #3 for its chronic malfunctions.)
This disc plays well on my home and car players. This is embarrassing to me, disruptive to the program and plainly unprofessional. Why does this remain an ONGOING PROBLEM? When will funds that our format raised during Radiothon be used to purchase new CD players?
Loud buzz in TT1, doesn't show up in preview only when live.
Both turntables are in dire need of new styluses and/or cartridge.
Once again:
CD Player 2 is operating at extremely low output.
CD Player 3 and 4 produce static-like interference while playing new cd that plays fine elsewhere.

Discs that I know to be new and fine play with static and cut-outs on cd player 4

TURNED OUT TO BE A DEAD CABLE. I THREW IT OUT. I'D SUGGEST PACKING YOUR OWN PATCH CORD. I LEFT A BLUE-WEAVE CABLE IN THE STUDIOTHAT IS WORKING
THERE IS NO RIGHT CHANNEL OUTPUT ON EITHER AUX. DEAD METERS.
While playing messages through foobar the booth computer was overlaying the music I was playing before (the dump delay?)
