ditto on Allen's comments on the mics.

Saw previous message that Mic 2 was out, when I came in, both 1 and 3 were in position, so I tried 1, but no response, would not register on VU dial, so I had to use 3. Worked fine, but spring tension requires holding it in place, otherwise it goes halfway back over board, does not stay where I want it, the way others do.

Listener (per computer) in Bristol (where we're not on the air, because we've no more antenna) called to say that he got only "leave a message" on the -9030 number. Had to reach me on the toll-free #.

Old reliable CD player #2 was not playing continuously when the cont mode was selected. It would bounce around on the last 2 seconds or so of the current track. I had to hit pause then play for it to move on. It could have been the CD, but there you are.

Yellow cue button stuck/not lit for mic 2.

This CD player skipped on two different CDs. The CDs are fine and playable on other CD players I have.

Static when adjusting level. Needs cleaning.

TT2 sounds bad and the level is way low; CD2 skipped on a brand new CD for the gazillionth time.

Off button for MIC 2 is sticking, light is off, sometimes has to be pressed twice to work
Jim Morgan Jim Morgan from CD 1 wrote on September 6, 2024 at 11:46 pm
This CD player skipped on a perfectly good CD for the umpteenth time.
Jim Morgan Jim Morgan from TT1 and TT2 wrote on September 6, 2024 at 11:43 pm
terrible buzzing continues to make TT1 unusable. TT2 is barely usable as well...buzzing is not as bad but still there, and the level on that turntable is far below the rest of the board. Having only one turntable makes it impossible to properly transition from one record to another without dead air.

Yellow button from the main console became dislodged

Both CD players skipped on opening tracks of 2 different CDs.

Neither turntable is suitable for on-air play because of a loud audible buzz in both of them.

CD player #2 locked on a commercial CD that worked very well on my home machine. This causes me frustration and embarrassment on air and sets a hokey tone for the station overall. I mean, you simply do not hear this kind of breakdown on other stations.
Jim Morgan Jim Morgan from Turntables 1 and 2, CD players 1 and 2 wrote on June 22, 2024 at 12:18 am
Neither turntable is currently usable as there is an audible buzz in both. Both CD players 1 and 2 skipped on my repeatedly. (Those are typically the ones that "work.") So essentially I had no hardware to play on my show tonight without noises or skipping damaging the listenability of the show. I have to echo Ron Marsh's frustration over the CD players. This model has been awful forever and it needs to be replaced...and emphatically NOT replaced with more of the same CD player. We need CD players that 1) work, 2) have a fast forwarding function so we can scan through the tracks, and 3) have a loading tray.

Players 2 and 3 failed, and the disc finally played on #4. Later a disc began well on player 4 but track noise got bad and I had to fade it out and restart it on #1, which seems to perform the best. My household donated $150. this year for Radiothon. When will we see donations going into equipment replacement?
